Data Governance

Electroencephalography (EEG) is a method group with the aim of supporting the research at DRCMR relative to EEG

The Data Governance Group

The Data Governance Group at DRCMR supports researchers in responsibly handling and collecting data across all activities - from simulations to large cohort studies. Our mission is to promote a culture of responsible data governance, ensuring that research at DRCMR is conducted ethically, efficiently, and in alignment with best practices.

Our Focus Areas

  • Data Organization: We promote awareness of good data practices, such as the FAIR principles, and provide practical recommendations for their implementation. This includes adopting standards like the Brain Imaging Data Structure, BIDS and offering tools and guidance for data conversion and organization.
  • Open and Reproducible Science: We advocate for open and reproducible science, assisting researchers with pre-registrations, pre-prints, and embracing a “data sharing by default” philosophy.
  • Resource Sharing: We encourage the sharing of computational resources and code within the institute and beyond. Our goal is to streamline analysis pipelines and foster collaboration across projects.

Outreach and Education

One of our key initiatives is the DRCMR Methods Course, where we teach sessions on version control and data governance principles, equipping researchers with essential skills for modern, responsible research.
