Trial Description

Hvidovre Hospital is looking for participants for a new project, which seeks to evaluate the efficacy of widely used non-invasive brain stimulation modality, transcranial alternating current stimulation, using a more systematic approach in larger scalp area. The study is harmless and safe. You can participate if you:

  • are from 18 to 39 years old
  • have normal or corrected-to-normal vision
  • have the ability to give written or oral informed consent.

You cannot participate if you:

  • Have self-reported pregnancy or are breastfeeding. Any subject with the potential to become pregnant must ensure against this (e.g. by taking oral contraceptives, or other high efficacy method).
  • Have self-reported medical conditions that may interfere with the study (e.g., epilepsy, heart disease).
  • Have previously been diagnosed a neurological or psychiatric condition.
  • Use medication which may have cognitive effects (e.g., stimulants, antidepressants, neuroleptics).
  • Have severe scalp skin lesions (i.e., razor nicks, wounds that have not healed, recent scare tissue, broken skin, etc.).
  • Have had previous craniotomy or other acute neurosurgical interventions.
  • Have claustrophobia, pacemakers, implanted electronic devices, metal in the body (e.g., pacemaker, deep brain stimulator, cochlear implant), or other contraindications for MR scans.
  • Have an alcohol intake exceeding 28 units per week, smoking more than 20 cigarettes per day.
  • Use illicit substances in the week prior to the experimental session.
  • If you don’t wish to be informed about incidental health findings from the MRI.

We cover an inconvenience remuneration of 200 DKK for the first hour and then 150 per. started hour (minimum 350 DKK). The whole experiment will last approximately 2,5 hours.
